Oh Happy Day!!!!

What a wonderful, beautiful fantastic thing to behold. Fresh scooped Capogiro's right in my back yard (well sort of). On Sunday I received word that Capogiro's will be scooping their sorbetto and gelato in Rockefeller center this Summer!!! There is little sign that this unassuming drink and sorbetto/gelato stand sells Capogiro's besides the cups but what a wonderful surprise those who try it will have. The stand is located on the steps that would down into the rink (restaurant in the summer) and the prometeus stands right behind it. The stand is open daily during the summer from noon - 8pm. There are currently 3 flavors Bacio, Lemon and Ananas Con Menta and the cost is $5 for what I believe is a medium cup in Philly. It was fresh and creamy so much like getting it straight from Capogiro's in Philly. All I can say is look out scoopers in Rockefeller Plaza b/c I've got tons of friends in NYC who have been hearing me rant about how fantastic Capogiro's is and they're all on their way to experience it themselves.
One last thing a friend at work who I gave a pint to some time ago and hears all my dessert adventures shared with me that Capogiro's is the first slide in a slide show of the best ice cream in america from Forbes Traveler Magazine (for some reason it's not actually talked about in the article though). Check it out on http://www.forbestraveler.com/food-drink/americas-best-ice-cream-slide.html Thanks for the info Christine!

  1. Turnpike, that sure is awesome news for you and the New Yorkers, but you know you must get to Philly for the real deal - all the summer berries and PEACH. Come visit already!

  2. Gotta go to DC this weekend for a family event and I'm already trying to talk my mom into going off the path on the way back for a stop at Capogiro. That certificate is burning a whole in my wallet.
